If I was only able to eat one meal for the rest of eternity and crispy duck was taken, my second choice would alost certainly include those two ingredients. Mmm.
I have two blocks of halloumi in the fridge right now

It's not THAT healthy, it's basically just pasta. Tiny pasta.
Brown rice and quinoa are the the healthy options, but are crap compared to couscous.
You're all thinking of bloody quinoa you pillocks. That's a faff to make, you just pour hot water on couscous.
Is quinoa the stuff that's really high in protein?

Maybe I am....I had a packet of Quinoua in my cupboard for 2 years after I that Gillian McCroneface sucked me in.
Never ate even a bit of it.

There are different kinds of couscous. One is instant and only really takes hot water, and is the stuff most people use, coz its easy. But there are kinds that need proper preperation, and they taste a bit different.
To cook quinoa you have to toast it then boil it until some little tails emerge from each grain like some kind of tadpole.
It's actually nice, the thing is you can't think of it as healthy otherwise you automatically feel resentful and belligerent when you're eating it.
What's the difference? Tell me more.
Tip - if you occasionally miss lunch at work, keep a tub of marigold veg stock powder and cous cous in your drawer. It's something you can make up in a mug in just a few minutes.
and maybe put frozen peas in too.
Sod god, who doesn't exist anyway, that sounds completely horrible. It needn't be "boring". It's just a vehicle-- bulk, in other words-- a foil to enhance other foods.
If you don't think you "like" couscous, try this: boil some water with an equal amount of freshly squeezed orange juice. Pour that over an equal amount of coarse couscous. Add a few tablespoons of crushed pistachios that have been dry-roasted in a heavy pan for a few minutes. Add a good-sized knob of butter and a bit of salt. Cover and wait five minutes. Remove lid and fluff with a fork, adding a few drops of orange flower water as you go.
If that, on it's own, isn't perfectly wonderful, God simply doesn't want you to eat couscous.

And "orange flower water" FFS, strangely enough I don't have that sort of thing in the cupboard sitting there waiting to be used. I'm a NORMAL person![]()

Pour on boiling water, add Stuff, three minutes later you've got a hot steaming bowl of awesome.
HEALTHY awesome too.
It's like Pot Noodles, crossed with Gillian McKeith.
Daft-cheap too.
Everyone should live on couscous. Fact.
Honestly I don't mind couscous with some roasted veg in it, it's ok, I'll eat it and enjoy it if someone else cooks it for me, but I don't like couscous enough to cook it for myself - and the other half won't touch the stuff, so it's not going to be on the menu any time soon. I also really really like rice, most of the time if something will go well with couscous it will go well with rice, and I'd just rather have rice if it's all the same to you![]()
that is a good idea - wish I'd seen this before - I forgot my lunch todayTip - if you occasionally miss lunch at work, keep a tub of marigold veg stock powder and cous cous in your drawer. It's something you can make up in a mug in just a few minutes.
