never been a missive fan of gail & family, but gail's dad and david's girlf (tina?) are both excellent new additions. hell, even gail & david have had some class lines recently.

Aye, we had a good laugh at that too. The Corrie scripwriters are bloody good I reckon - there are all sorts of little throwaway comments and in jokes that make it genius compared to the other soaps.

yeah... none of the other soaps even come close. i actually find the characters believable in corrie, 'cause they say the funny/daft/nonsense things that people really say. by contrast, you can sit through eastenders or whatever, and find it impossible to care for any of the characters as they're completely unreal.

the storylines in all soaps are all pretty much off the shelf & interchangable, so it's the dialogue which makes it...

Agree - Simon Gregson should get an Oscar (or whatever they are in 'soapland') just for his facial expressions. I don't know wheether it's acting as such but I think his expressions he pulls are brilliant

Seems it might be a good idea - give it a trial.

Although, personally, if I had to really make a choice it would be the soaps that went - not the wine.

Don't you think though, with the character they're building in the story lines and where they're beginning to take the part, they're just recycling the old Karen McDonald (Suranne Jones) part ?
