it one of the things I hate most about this government.... the whole attiude that they are the owners of my personal information and that it is their right to sell it to whoever they see fit.
for my first general election i got registared up at my dad's address. Now I had never recieved any post at the adress but shortly after registaring junk-mail started appearing, presumably from the group that the electoral registar sold my information to. It went from a trikle to 10-plus letters through the door at an adress I don't even live at. I guess it is very possible that my information was re-sold to others ect. ect.
pisses me right offf. and thats just the information of my adress getting sold on..........It doesn't do to think about how serious things could get with more personal information

The government are planning a "Coroners & Justice" bill which has a clause (152) which will allow loads of different agencies to share your personal information and even private companies
No2ID are encouraging people to hassle their MP and tell him/her they refuse consent for em to do this/ write to the paper about it etc

I wrote to my Mp about this, and she wrote back to say that she'd forwarded my letter to Jack Straw.
