Would you take on a lunatic with a metal pole? I wouldn't!
But he wasn't acting like a lunatic. I would be loath to tackle someone who was constantly swinging the pole at speed in all directions. But David in those scenes was moving very slowly and it would have been very easy for one/two of the grown men to take it off him. Especially at the point where Ken tackled him. Any of the grown men could have come up at the side. It was a really stupid scene.
Agree, after he'd done the hairdressers jason made a move and was only a couple of feet from him - he could have reached out and grabbed it then just hung on.

After watching more or less from the start, I stopped watching Corrie about 3 months ago because I just got bored with it (and Eastenders too) Nothing I read now makes me sorry I stopped.
David went into the street and grabbed a metal pole and started smashing the windows of Rogers van, then other cars, then the houses, the salon and the kebab shop.
And Rita came out of the salon to have a look with her hair in foils and said "Now everyone will know I'm not a natural redhead".
