Cool things in pretty rubbish films

In the 80's Connery sci fi vehicle 'Outland' there is the second-best depiction of explosive decompression ever. It might even be better than the one in total recall, I can't decide

Actually, I don't think any film has completely accurately shown survival in a vacuum. 2001 comes close, but Bowman holds his breath, which you shouldn't do. You should exhale completely, screw your eyes up and curl into a ball. You can last 30 seconds, maybe a minute, before careful recompression brings you back. It's not actually that cold because vacuum is a good insulator.

I think Back to the Future 3 is vastly inferior to the first two, but I love the bit right at the beginning where Doc wakes up, starts talking into a voice recorder, talking about his seemingly successful experiment and then saying he had some kind of mental echo which made him hallucinate that Marty had come back, and then he turns round and sees Marty, that shocked expression is just priceless.

ooh, Travolta crushing a mans throat with one well aimed smash from his torch in the otherwise action-by-numbers film Broken Arrow

I like Sliding Doors too and Ghost, Grease, Truly Madly Deeply and Menace II Society...

Menace is a great example of a shit film full of cool bits

Whenever O'Dog gets pissed off  I love the way he just shoots innocent people for no reason without even thinking about it, what a hero
