Cool site for Citroen DS fans

If I ever win the lottery I'm gonna buy up every single DS left in the world, then destroy them all in ever more inventive and exciting ways

Just saw in this month's Classic & Sportscar magazine that a 1973 Chapron DS convertible sold at a Bonhams auction in Paris last month for $440,000!:eek::eek:

Here it is

Nearly £300,000 for a DS convertible!

Lovely car but is it really worth £300K?

Are we going to see a spate of high value auction prices as some people begin to think investing in an "appreciating" asset like a classic car is a better use of their money (and possibly safer) than other more traditional investment options?

Well it's the only fuel injected DS23 that Chapron bodied and 'normal' Chapron convertables are now over the £100k mark. But no, would never have seen that price for one coming.

Well as far as prices go, the top end DB Astons, Ferraris & RS911s have crept up quite a bit over the last two years, exceeding some of the late '80s early 90s heights. So possibly could be seen as better investments

But in general I'd say prices have stayed steady for about the last 10 years, some prices for cars like MKII Jags seem to have even fallen.
