Editor - how robust do you find your current Clie? (I tend to chuck the Psion around a bit)

Well, it's travelled a fair few miles with me without incident. You can also buy well 'ard accessory aluminium cases for the Rugged Man On The Move.

As for importing databses/addresses etc, you can import and convert most file formats, there's also database apps for Palms. The new Clie can also read Word/Excel/Powerpoint docs directly too.

Will have a go on one to see if I can do the handwriting thing (Psion keyboard is still a work of genius after all these years). If it's half decent then I thnnk that I could convince myself that the Clie is an essential purchase.

If enough of us are interested, do you think there is any mileage in doing some sort of U75 collective bargaining to get a discount? (the only place seeming to sell it at the moment is Sonystyle who have it on pre-order for £299.99). I would also need to get some memory - does anyone know which of the sony memory formats it takes? (and also, what is magicgate)?

I also fancy getting some sort of GPS system like TomTom - it would be invaluable if I were to ever get lost going up Brixton Hill
