Cooking Steak

I do like a nice rump steak, but most times have sirloin as it seems to be more likely to end up on the reduced to clear shelf, and my budget doesn't really stretch to purchasing steak unless there is a yellow sticker involved :D

Everyone on this thread does something a bit wrong, and it's a fucking disgrace.

I do something different each time and it always tastes ok. Quite hard to fuck up a steak.

I never have steak at home as Mrs tag is vegetarian, I occasionally eat it when out if I can trust it being a decent one, well cooked.

Nothing but mustard, or we must fight...

I'm in the mustard camp myself. I have a Colman's addiction tbh and am disappointed that I can no longer seem to find the big jars in supermarkets these days.

I do eat pork loin steaks a lot more frequently (they are a lot cheaper, and also fucking delicious) and I do sometimes like those with a mustard sauce or a mushroom sauce or something cider based, but quite often find myself reaching just for the mustard. :D

I remember being in Portland, Or. With my fil. His mission was to get a plain simple steak that was not covered in mustard, or barbeque sauce or any other shit. He wanted an unadorned steak and it was not easy.

Bone in rib eye for me. Room temp, fry, rest. Got to make sure it's thick cut and hung for at least 28 days. Ketchup for the chips and peas (and an egg).
