Contacts From Outlook

This might be a really stupid question but I'm feeling a bit thick. I have like, 125 odd contacts in my Outlook and my computer is dodgy and likely to crash at any time. So I was wondering if there is a way of taking the contacts from my Outlook and moving them as a file or to another email.

Or do I just have to write it all down one by one in a Word file?

Cheers in advance.

In outlook go to file and export address book. You can then save to a floppy.

Give over you know very well what a 'floppy' is. :D

Use them very rarely, but come in handy sometimes when your hard disk is about to fail and you want to save some contact info from Outlook. :p

Ok another question. I saved the contacts into an excel file, and just imported it into my outlook at work, and its all come up but without email addresses in.

Poor ludite me, what have I done wrong?

:(

You could always have a look at the help file as I did on your behalf: :p

To export an address book:

On the File menu, point to Export, and then click Address Book.
Choose a format for the export. To export your address book directly from Outlook Express, choose Microsoft Exchange Personal Address Book. To use a file with address information separated by commas, select Text File.

To export your Address Book contacts to other programs

You can export your Address Book contacts to other Windows Address Book (.wab) files, as well as to Microsoft Exchange Personal Address Book, or any text (.csv) file.

To export your Address Book files to another Windows Address Book:

In Address Book, on the File menu, point to Export, and then click Address Book (WAB). Locate and select the Windows Address Book file you want to export to, and then click Open.

For all other address book formats:

In the Address Book, on the File menu, point to Export, and then click Other Address Book. Click the address book or file type you want to export to, and then click Export.
