conditions in gaza are the worst they have ever been

Uh yes Nino, at least you have managed to master that much. Arabic IS my first language. Why would it even concern you though? Sometimes you scare me. Just sad really I suppose.

I do not think that my wording was coined by anyone other than myself but being that I have spent more than a few years in America, aside from being born there, it5 would be of no great suprise IF that were American this or that.

Really? At various times, you told us that "Yiddish" was your first language and then, you told us it was "Ladino". Sometime later, you told us that "Hebrew" was your first language...then it was "English".

If you're going to spin lies, it helps to keep track of them. How about writing them down in a notebook?

I speak many langauges, including those you listed. MY first langauge is Arabic. I earned Yiddish second, Ladino third, and Hebrew 4th. I began learning English I believe at age 7 because it was mandatory, even in cheder which I attended. Thanks for the fandom though. Attention is always sweet. You DO know I am married and do not swing your way, right? Thanks just the same.Hope you find love, it IS grand.

There IS a reason why British Jewish Groups regularly protest BBC coverage.
They do, as do British Muslim Groups, but it's not this reason that you gave:
That is because until 3 years ago the entire BBC MidEast Bureau was staffed by and run by Arabs
This statement infers that British Jews are racist. This is a gross misrepresentation of British Jewry. I am very very angry with you for saying this, more angry even than I become when I read a Mad Mel article.

'My outrage was an inadequate reaction'

Outgoing Ha'aretz editor David Landau says Anglo-Jewish community should focus on the real issues in the Israel-Palestine conflict instead of attacking the media

Yup, it's because we have the freedom to do so, and because any viewer has the right (enshrined in the BBC's constitution) to pass comment to the programme-makers.

It's anyway a calumny and inaccurate. The whole schtick originated in the fact that in the late 90s and early 00s the journalistic staff (and the journalistic staff only, not the programme producers or any of those with actual editorial power) of the BBC World Service (that is, the radio broadcasters) Arab section was "Arab", some of them immigrant, some British-born.
How do I know? I contacted a mucker who works at White City and asked him. He said that the BBC's customer relations dept actually had to template a form letter setting out the above because of the number of very rude letters they get from supposed "concerned Jews" on the matter. It appears that certain internet resources available to our nationalist-Zionist friends and their supporters still purvey this calumny 5-6 years after it was shown to be pish. :)

oh dear oh dear!! its all a massive conspiracy to discredit israel, and its all revealed in the new book, "protocols of the elders of ramallah!!" but there is hope, we can resist, by sending thousands of zionist strongly worded emails to the bbc every day and making its editors want to kill themselves as they fight through a sea of paranoid stupidity! remember we have faced bigger threats than this in the past!! fight the good fight people!!

LOL. See Landau's change of heart, above.

Tangent: Sorry you misconstrue something post. I would have rather you had asked instead of assumed some intent but here we have the issue so let us discuss it.

The 2 statements are not related, or rather they are but not in the way you would imagine. The entirely Arab run bureau NEVER produced a single fair piece on the Israeli position. Jewish groups all over the world keep track of these issues much more than people might ever imagine.

Arabs claim that there is an anti-Arab-bias in the entire media? Ever read the Guardian? I listen to and watch the BBC ( we only have World out here) daily. the protests are over system wide bias, not one bureau.

I made 2 equally valid complaints that you obviously connected in your reasoning but that was neither my intent nor reality.

That Landau in the Guardian part though was a peach. To hell with a sensationalist leftist whose time passed 3 decades ago. He missed the early 80s, too bad.Let him do something real for the State instead of nitpicking with his brothers over valid protest.

I think he has a point. Too much effort is spent on
a) lobbying over perceived bias
b) going over and over histories that can't be altered even though the telling of the histories, however skewed by bias they might be, affects the present attitudes

c) thus energy is misspent and people omit to discuss what is actually happening now and where things stand now and miss their chance to take the next step forward

it's a bit like the push-me-pull-you from doctor dolittle story, or the tale of the ass in the golden ass of apuleius story.

BUT...Point A is perfectly valid is it not? Point B is also important because it then allows the public at large to then reevaluate if they then choose.

Yes, all valid, however, time is of the essence because there is not an endless supply of humans to martyr to achieve geo/political aims (Israelis and Palestinians!).

So both a) and b) are important, but not as important as c) which needs to be priority.

But did you not just acknowledge, here or in another thread that agendas cannot be set? The 2 sides must set their own priorities and for both they look at it as a struggle for survival...and for us it certainly is.
