Condensation

I expect the diluted bleach was just to get the mould off, not to stop it happening.

It stops it coming back for a bit but it's not a complete fix. I don't think there is a complete fix that doesn't involve a cold flat.

Do you shut the bathroom door when you have your shower and then open the window after until the condensation clears? That will stop it spreading to the rest of the flat. You do need to opent the windos if you can and don't dry laundry inside. You can get anti condensation paint too. But the best thing is to get the moisture out of the air altogether - the dehumidifier is brilliant at that but salt or those trays which collect water underneath (I have one of those too which you can have as a no-leccy version of the dehumidifier) help.

One thing I don't usually do is shut the bathroom door while I'm in there steaming myself up so I'll start doing that.

Trashy: got croco on Shopping List for tomorrow? :D

Silica gel packets acts as a dessicant as opposed to salt. I put a few of these in with my vinyl when they were being stored in a particularly damp cellar, worked a treat! I dunno how they'd work on a grand scale mind?

I have got so fed up with putting things on the recycle board which no one wants that I'd decided not to put it on. Had no idea it would be so popular :D

spangles - it's yours (with the caveat that I may need it back at some point). Sorry onket, she was first

bingo! will have a discussion with you about picking it up.

sorry onket - but i am ridiculously pleased and grateful.

5tella. Do you own the flat or is it a rented place. If it's a rented place you maybe able to point out the problem to the landlord who may want to fit air bricks to improve the air flow.

We had a terrible problem once and the landlord got environmental health out who told us it was just condensation from drying clothes etc. Turns out there was a leak under the bath which had gone undetected for years!
