You're having what's known as a 'gadget wank'

That LG one looks perfect. Get it. But get it somewhere else if you can, overclockers uk is run by some people with very dodgy rw views, IIRC. (I'm thinking of the BNP/nationalist kinda thing - someone fill me in?)

Yeah, those 19" and 22" screens look about perfect really. Scart input (aka S-Video), decent to verging upon obscene screen size and all the other wonderful bits and bobs you need.

There are other things to look for in screens, response time, brightness, colour range, contrast etc. However the manufacturer specs are often misleading and sometimes just flat out lies. The only way to tell for sure is to find one of the half dozen sites that do high quality testing of LCD screens and hope they have a review of the pannel in question. Which is unlikely.

Don't expect the colours to be spot on (you have to pay a fortune for that in LCDs) but other than that either should be fine.

do you think they have audio outs that I can plug our speakers into though?

I can't see anywhere that says if they do or not (also crispy, I've found them on play.com too which I thought was a better place?)

I've been reading this thread with interest as my TV just died and was thinking of getting something similar - the LG one looks perfect, almost too perfect for that price - must find a review

I'm pretty anti_overclockers from waaaaaaaaaay back along...last time I bothered to look(when this was last mentioned here and I was challenged over such aspersions) they hadn't changed :(

The LG looks great, I have a question however.

It say's T.V. tuner, does that mean freeview as well?

Probably me being pedantic.

nah, just regular analogue TV. What with the standard for broadcast digital being different from country to country, very few TVs have it built in.

What you want is an Eizo. You just might not know it yet.
