I'm still not convinced that they're not red (chilli) pepper flakes all along. A quick google suggests that

I mean Dub's tasted them and says that they're not hot, but I wouldn't trust that fussy get's tastebuds for a second.

jesus fucking wept, i can read.

do you want to eat tonight or not?

and actually if you hadn't have made that god AWFUL stir fry 4 years ago using fish sauce then thought it'd be a marvellous idea to put fucking bananas in it then maybe, just maybe I'd actually let you cook.
it was curry and you can have bananas in curry ... or stry fry for that matter... philistine...

Stig and tarannau know stuff about cooking and they agree with me :)

no..

stig argued that a pepper is a chilli or somethibg.

but regardless, a bell pepper has no Scoville rating at all, so the acid indigestion comment was still wrong. They're not spicy, it's that simple.

And tarannau's just doing his 'cooking is macho' routine again, poor lamb :p

Does it say 'bell pepper flakes' on the packet, or are you imagining that? or does it just say "dubversion is a bell-en....'
:p
Stig's right - chillis are generally called peppers in huge chunks of the world. A scotch bonnet, for example, is known as a pepper rather than a chilli throughout the Windies. What are called red pepper flakes are generally dried red chilli flakes.

And nope, you telling us that they're not spicy isn't proof of anything. I'd have to wait for PieEye, or someone with a modicom of tasting ability to confirm.

They call them banana curries because the yokels wouldn't know what a plantain is.

no, they don't call them banana curries at all.

they call them lamb kashmir. which has banana in it. not plaintain.
