Companies to Boycott once this is over

Should Pizza Express be added to the list. I can't quite fathom out what dodgy dealing has gone on but note they shed 2500 jobs last year and are now taking on 1000 new staff. Bad planning or rehiring on worse terms?

Hmm, the assumption is staff were laid off, some premises remain closed/sold, and now getting ready to open back up what's left. Smells fishy. What's the source?

Close to the centre of Wandsworth and just the other side of me to another pizza express which has permanently closed, here is another. I don't believe it was used by prince Andrew but certainly Gordon Ramsay

I've just read this. I've no problem giving back of house more money, but doing it this way is out of order.

Funnily enough Mrs Q and I went to Pizza Express yesterday
This article has however confirmed one thing I have long suspected that card tips don't end up in the hands of the staff which is why I never do it and leave a tip in cash.

becoming harder in a post covid world where card and contactless payments become the norm. The place we went too last weekend automatically added a 7.5% service charge on the bill to cover ‘tips’

Setting aside the whole "Paying People a Decent Wage and Including in The Total Price" thing for a moment, that's basically stealing isn't it? Any monies collected via card machines is totally under the control of the restaurant with no guarantee it will be distributed. It's just that Pizza Express have actually confessed to it (must the be royal connection).
I also don't like the idea of mandatory tips, the staff should be paid a decent wage and not have to rely on tips but on top of that, If I'm particularly pleased with the service I have received then it's my discretion to give them something else to boot.
However going forward I can foresee potential problems, yesterday I left approx 10% of the bill in the form of 4 x £1 coins (paid the bill with my smartwatch) These coins have been in my possession since before the first lockdown and I currently have 5 x £1 and 1 x £2 left.
I have used cash to buy something twice since March last year and I can see myself either running out of coins to leave as tips or having to go the bank to stock up which given the nearest branch is now 10 miles away is easier said than done.
