Commercial vehicles being parked on residential road

A lorry parked on the road has to display lights at night but no one ever does. If this is so "crash" into said lorry and claim thousands back from their insurers for emotional distress and neck injuries.

Is there a size requirement for lorries to have to do that?

Did just find this though

220. Goods vehicles. Vehicles with a maximum laden weight of over 7.5 tonnes (including any trailer) MUST NOT be parked on a verge, pavement or any land situated between carriageways, without police permission. The only exception is when parking is essential for loading and unloading, in which case the vehicle MUST NOT be left unattended.

From the highway code...... Im pretty sure when laden that lorry is over 7.5 tonnes

The thing is I'm not sure I want to dob him in, incase he finds out who it was.

My housemate says he's well known for liking a scrap and tends to be overly confrontational.

Remind me to put you on my blacklist !! ;)

Might be best to go round personally and have a quiet word with them ?? You don't know the circumstances do you ?

All of you might want to remember something..... ''If you've got it,a lorry delivered it'' !! Think about it...

Yep but they don't deliver it and park there all day

They parked it there on a friday and moved it on a monday morning last time.

The bloke lives down my road, also has two cars parked on the road, but doesnt leave his lorry at the yard because he cant be bothered to drive his car to the yard in the mornings.

His neighbour has four cars :ffs:

My neighbour had a go at me about my housemates van.

Parking down my road is a fucking nightmare, but the lorry takes up 3 to 4 spaces, and I imagine would stop an ambulance getting down the road.

This is the least observed and least enforced 'MUST' in the whole Highway Code.
