Commas immediately after brackets

hmm I'm in two minds about that because as I said, Col was listing things and the comma is a natural separator in a list.

Thank you. I don't see how a "yup" explains the case that DF is trying to make. I certainly can't get past the list separator function for those commas.

When we argue as I family I like poking my finger in (when needed), mum's pie (for she always argues about her pie), and stirring it up.

Now, without wanting to be facetious, if you argue that the commas are superfluous in that sentence, it's no longer a list and you fairly radically change the sense of what is being said
