garf, this is a thread about mobile fingerprint scanners. I happen to think that interesting and important.

It is not about 9-11 conspiracies, nor is it about what taffboy does or does not believe about 9-11.

You have made an allegation - not connected to the topic - that taffboy is an anti Semite by proxy, and made inappropriate comments about anti psychotic medication, ruining a perfectly good thread.

As butchers said, we could easily have passed by any daft notions in taffboy's actual post, and got back on topic.

Now, unless you have anything to add on the topic in hand, I suggest you take your nonsense elsewhere.
 
I dont want the thread derailed any further. I cant be arsed to engage with Garfields empty bile, insults and goading or give them the dignity of any further attention.

My attitude isnt "I told you so" with regards to the incremental moves towards a surveillance state. Any fule kno these boards are full of people at least as aware as I am of the dangers.

My frustration is at the derision towards the idea that those moves might be perfectly deliberate, intentional and directed or part of an international trend.

These are important angles on the issue that are too often overlooked. I would have hoped U75ers would be happy to discuss them but have often been disappointed by immediate derision. My wittering about "loons" and "tinfoil hats" has not come out of a vacuum.

I am writing to inform your readers of a scheme that the British Transport Police has embarked upon to attempt to cloud their "stop and search" statistics.

While travelling to a friend's wedding, I (a 27-year-old white male) was "invited" to have a Section 44 check at a train station: the officer explained that it was a part of a national day of action, and I willingly agreed to supply my details. However, being the cynic that I am, I asked the officer whether this day of action was in fact a thinly veiled means of massaging the stop-and-search statistics. To his credit, the officer confirmed my suspicion, and was also disarmingly honest about how uncomfortable he felt about his part in the exercise.

So when statistics on the use of Section 44 powers are next released, readers should be aware that any apparent reduction in the disproportionality with which the powers are used on ethnic minorities is likely to be the result of action such as this.

More generally, I would also encourage readers to maintain a healthy scepticism towards official statistics, which are often the outcome of political bargaining rather than representative of some "objective" reality.

I had an idea that the police where going to be rolling out some form of PDA like device (although didn't realise it would be mobile finger print scanners). A mate of mine who I used to work with told me early last year he was working on a project for the police that involved mobile devices. He wouldn't say more then that. So now it is out in public, I might give him a call and see if I can get the low down ;).

At the risk of not being serious - I was wondering whether these fingerprint scanners might get fitted to packs of robots [that] will hunt down uncooperative humans, so that they might check your identity - should the RFID chip in your ID card not match up to the one the database associates with the ones in your underpants, your face scan and your gait signature - before singing you a 100,000 volt lullaby.

Make it all 'smart' enough and we'll probably elect it. :)
 
On fingerprinting generally, there is plenty of it happening in this country as LeaveThemKidsAlone website discusses.

In the US, the business model is franchised.

Have your sick bags at the ready for this vid.



It doesnt matter how many people do or dont kick off against cops fingerprinting you in the street if the kids are all trained up for the control grid anyway.

Thats the idea, and its happening.

Some might say that a controlling elite is incrementally putting a surveillance control grid in place and we are too docile or disorganised to stop them.

Happily, I have learnt from this and other message boards that such people have attained the 3rd Degree of the Order of The Tinfoil Hat.

When our grandkids are routinely monitored by state and corporations we can tell them how silly these "paranoids" were.
