Comedies you like that everyone else hates

Lee & Herring used to be hilarious when they were still about but not many other people I know have even heard of them.

I went to see Stewart Lee not long ago, in Soho. He's still very funny.

"Fist of Fun"!!!
"This Morning with Richard not Judy" was class too!

i quite like friends - its an opportunity to let your brain completely relax. i always laugh properly out loud at least three times an episode too.

it is repeated far too much though...

Agree with everything you said!

That's quite a poor ratio for a half-hour show, especially when you consider how many intended jokes there are in each episode.

I love Seinfeld. However most people I know haven't heard of it so can't really dislike it. Obviously Channel 4 haven't got time in their scheduals for it because they've got to have the news, Countdown (which I like) and about 40 episodes of Friends instead.

Yay! TMWRNJ! I thought it was wicked - very good Sunday morning hangover cure. And it had Kevin Eldon in.

Richard Herring's book Talking Cock was highly diverting and very funny too imo.

I'm sure he represents some deep archetype of The Fool or something. Probably. I shouldn't wonder.

Rising Damp
Some Mothers Do Ave Em
King of the Hill
Sienfeld

all classic comedy, I can't imagine that anyone hates them
I lkie freinds too

for me one of hte most underrated comedies was the brittas empire, absolute comedy genuius that will one day be recognised for the fabulous proramme that it was.

I really enjoyed Joey! How can Joey not have been mentioned yet?
I think Will and Grace is crap but occasionally watch it for Karen's lines.
No one ever knows what I'm talking about, but The PJs was great as well, I actually wrote down a couple of choice lines from it because they were so sharp :o
I love a teen comedy movie too.

Edited to add: and Nathan Barley was FANTASTIC!

Surely 'Allo 'Allo? can I be Tout Seul again? It Aint half Hot Mum? If only for Windsor Davis "Oh dear how sad; never mind"

I think he directed it and also wrote some of it. Did you see it? I really liked it.

never saw it I'm afraid, not really into musicals myself. Saw Rich on that "Best and Worst of God" a few weeks ago though.

I'm having to build my collection up slowly on DVD. I've got the first 8 DVD box set but I'll get the rest one day. In the mean time I am so loving Curb.

Does anyone like Broken News?

Cos that's fucking shite - just watching it now, unbelievably awful!! How the fuck does stuff like that get made???

I don't like musicals but my mum wanted to see that one, so I took her along. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it, although I suppose it's not your average musical. Still, I doubt I'll ever go and see another.
