Come on the Jacks!

Very heavy policing yesterday. I was in the cayo, usualy a lovely family pub, even the cup final fans were happily engaging in banter, Yesterday tho we were over run with Soul Crew, all the faces were in there and arranging with Swansea for an off after the game. they returned to watch the penalties and then they went beserk chanting and screaming about how great cardiff are and how shit the jacks are. It was very intimidating for the regulars who drink there and despite all the football fans we've had over the years they'd seen nothing like it and a few left cos they felt scared. At the end of the day it would ahve been good fro Welsh footy had they gone up, but with their better stadium and larger crowds maybe the cardiff fans are just worried that swansea might actually have put up a pretty good show had they gone up!

The rivalry is only recent ( since the early 80's really ),and like all rivalries the tow sides accuse each other of the same things, more medai bias, beating up women and children, etc, etc.

I was once told that Swansea was more protestant and Cradiff more catholic, but I personally thing this is bollocks ( although the Swansea loyalist wankers are different and I don't think they're representative of their fans ).

However, in keeping with rivalries they do love giving it the big one when they're doing well, which makes them fall down to earth with a harder landing....that's just banter tho and fully part of sporting culture ( world over ).

On a personal level having been part of a police sanctioned stoning from swansea fans and a very hairy moment in a multi-story after a Bauhaus gig, I think if they look for trouble and come unstuck I;ll shed no tears ( Canton the other years, that did invole ther BNP steroid boy ).

When I were a lad Cardiffs rival were the 2 Bristols, Newport were liked by City fans ( used to watch them alot ), and Ninian staged a save the county match south Wales11 vs man u for them.
Their was aggro between the two sides that was casual based but the rest of us didn't seem to matter.

Sorry , can't resist it...

I don't think it would have been so bad if Mcleod hadn't made the mistake of being an arrogant cock before the game was one...you're bound to fall from a great height it that happens.

BTW - didn't mind the flag thing, I'd be pissing myself if it were the other way round.

Yeah 1927 it seems to have been taken over as one of the out of centre pubs to plot up.. they were in there for the England game.

I was having kittens that ONket wasn't going to turn up as I told him it was a very safe pub to drink in.

Hopefully they'll all piss off back to the Neville.
