Was looking forward to this and it didn't disappoint. Great to see both teams and sets of supporters belting out their national anthems.

It's pronounced HAM-es (like Palestinian Hamas with an "e"). His mum and dad saw an English name they liked and just decided to pronounce it phonetically I suppose. Love it!

Used to know a Colombian lass called Tatiana and it used to make me chuckle a bit that her sister was called Sharon. I spose both names are as exotic/different/whatever over there.

I've just put a rather hopeful 2 quid on Colombia to win the tournament. I think if they manage it along with my work sweep I'll get about fifty quid in total.

The only downside to them wearing red on Friday (which happens to be my birthday - thanks lads, a WC quarter final to watch on my b'day. Sweet!) is that I'm gonna have to go and haggle with some street vendor for a red top this week. I've only just got used to wearing my yellow one.
