Colleague ignoring me!

You could go out of your way to be really polite and friendly in a completely over the top way. It works wonders!!

^ this is what I do with anyone who is off with me for no reason or a reason that I have no idea about and yes, it does work :) Just let it all wash over you - pretend that you haven't noticed any change in attitude and be completely normal, be smiley and pleasant but not over the top - just normal :)

OK - so I spent most of the weekend obsessing about this and winding myself up about what to do (stupidly)...went straight over to her desk this morning and started chatting "how was your weekend?" that kind of thing.

She was still being weird so I just gently said "have I done something to upset you?" and she said "no" and started being a bit more normal.

Nowt so queer as folk eh? :D

She wants your job and is trying to force you out, and doing a good job by the looks. Wait in the stairwell with a tyre iron and cripple her. Then as she is lying on the ground screaming 'My leg!!! My leg!!!!' just walk away - you show her what true rudeness is ;)

I'd carry on being really nice to her and make an effort to chat. If she keeps on with her ignory ways she'll look like a right tit in front of the rest of her colleagues.

This shit happens all the time at the various places I've worked.

Tested method: Don't ASK what you've done wrong, or any other questions for that matter. Just TELL her how it's going to be.

"So listen, I get the feeling you're upset at me, as lately you've been ignoring me - personally, I'd like to go back to how things were before.... where we could talk in a friendly manner. I'm just going to keep doing what I'm doing, but if you'd prefer for me to ignore you as well, just let me know. See ya later."

Ball's now in her court, she can choose to fuck herself over (have her manager walk around the elephant in the room she's created) or act like a normal human being.

My flatmate is not ignoring someone at work just dont talk to them much because she doesn't like her. her colleague sent hger a text last week

i'm probably being paranoid but i keep thinking your perhaps being a bit short with me.Have i done something to upset you? i really hope not and i hope all is okay.if smething is up why dont we sit down and catch up. Let me know if your ok, have a good weekemnd.

I said she should text back and say 'pissoff you nosey paranoid lesbian stalker'

Personally, I would ask if there was something I had done that has upset her, in the nicest, sweetest, most concerned way that I could with out being patronising.

Its quite hard to be bitchy to someone that is trying to be nice and understanding.

You will look like the better person and possibly get to the bottom of it.
Maybe a good thing if you are going to be her manager.

See this to me screams that you have no intention of making the working situation any easier which may well get her back up even more as she will feel more threatened and under attack.

Different people and different working environments though.
You may be right but I would err on the side of caution.

Am I right in saying that therein could lie the answer?
The ignorer is jealous?
