this looks like a good night :)

oohy, looking at the website, they have a pool, so if she goes, tell her to take a swimming cozzie

All I'm saying is if it it was I asking (and yes I probably would ask here in behalf of my child) I wouldn't start off by slagging off mainstream clubs. Instead I'd be posting a list of bands she like to give a flavour of what she enjoyed.

If that led to people recommending west end clubs I wouldn't get huffy about it but acknowledge that just in my day when my tastes didn't match my folks' tastes, her don't match mine so I won't imposed mine on her.

I could have recommended Zoo and O'Neal's (the only two London clubs I've been in in the last ten years) to be helpful but he'd already ruled them out with his slagging of the west end. An area this is handy to get home from on a night bus. Plus everyone else would have gotten snobby about it too as these boards are so anti-mainstream.

I`m not anti- mainstream in the slightest , in fact thats probably the type of club that would appeal to her most BUT I have had the misfortune on a couple of occasions to be stuck in a soulless touristy club with little or no atmosphere ,this type of club I was slagging off and yes they do tend to be mostly in he West End for obvious reasons. I didn`t slag off the area , there are dozens of good clubs in the West End too but I don`t know nowadays which ones to avoid , particularly on a weekday night .

She`s left now or I would have told her to look into Zoo

For a laugh I nearly suggested that club some urbs go to that has a hottub you can go in.

But you might not have found the idea of your daughter going to a club in a swimsuit at all amusing even as a windup.

How did her night go hammerntonges? Did she have fun, or hasn't she surfaced to face the world yet? :D

Only news I got was a text saying they had a good time , if I interrogate her too much she will clam up and tell me they went to Bingo , It was part of her 18th Birthday pesent , we paid for her and her friend to stay in a hotel for the night in town , they are going shopping in the West end today to blow any money they have left. Her mum will get to her first , she will give her a full on Guantanamo Bay style de-briefing session and will want to know everything:D

:D
cool, I hope she had a cracking time, and good on you parents for doing this for her, it probably means alot to know that she's trusted by you both

Man! The idea of my Dad organising my social life when I was 18!

Hardly organising ! all we did was get her a night in a London hotel thats all , If my parents had done that for me when I was 18 I would have been fine with it , better that than a charm bracelet or HMV vouchers , things are not the same as when we were young when you could blag into clubs and pubs at 16 and expect to get away with it , well at least it is where we live .
