Clothkits are back! And fab!

I was the same, but I'd have looked fucking dapper in a pair of these.

cloth kits were ace, although the folks could only afford the occasional doll... my mum used to make a lot of our clothes, which feels a bit strange now - mrs b does a bit of knitting, and sometimes sews stuff off pattern, but mainly for her own pleasure than necessity (which is what the revived clothkits is cashing in on, i guess)

i heard about a fashion designer who got hold of a load of old pieces of clothkits printed cloth a few years ago and was using them like normal cloth, so you'd see bits of pattern and whatnot in the clothes? that sounded ace... dunno who it was though. :(

i used to have a clothkts doll and loads of clothkits clothes, funny this should pop up now as we were talking about it just the other day. i loved my coat with lots of different pockets which had a stuffed animal in each

i think we need a 'post a picture of you in your clothkits clothes when you were a nipper' thread! :D

:) I had that coat!

;) Mine in blue and red and yours in brown and green iirc... :D But surely the multi-coloured stripy jumpers were the best?

My mum went a bit mad with those and so did her mate
We have a picture of us all lined up at the xmas dinner table looking like the bloody clampits all matching on boxing day... 7 kids wearing clothkits stripey jumpers:eek:

I'm pretty sure I made a Clothkits toy for a child I knew. It was a little mouse. I certainly remember their clothes.

Bright yellow, red green and blue? I am looking at such a photo as I type - just 3 of us though, me, mum and sis :)

My mum used to sew all my clothes but I don't remember these at all.

She also hoards material. My little cousin was the sun in her nativity last week and my mum reshaped an old yellow bridesmaids dress of mine - she had it in her material cupboard for 32 years! :D

Bloody hell. Now there's a blast from the pat. Who would have thought cloth-kits would come back, eh? Had loads of this stuff back in the day.
