Clothkits are back! And fab!

cloth kits were ace, although the folks could only afford the occasional doll... my mum used to make a lot of our clothes, which feels a bit strange now - mrs b does a bit of knitting, and sometimes sews stuff off pattern, but mainly for her own pleasure than necessity (which is what the revived clothkits is cashing in on, i guess)
i heard about a fashion designer who got hold of a load of old pieces of clothkits printed cloth a few years ago and was using them like normal cloth, so you'd see bits of pattern and whatnot in the clothes? that sounded ace... dunno who it was though.

On a similar printastic theme, I'm also enjoying the retro feel of Louise Elliott toys - I have the lion and the bear on the go for my mate's twins.

i used to have a clothkts doll and loads of clothkits clothes, funny this should pop up now as we were talking about it just the other day. i loved my coat with lots of different pockets which had a stuffed animal in each

they are the same prices as stuff in shops, why wouldn't you just buy real clothes

I'm pretty sure I made a Clothkits toy for a child I knew. It was a little mouse. I certainly remember their clothes.

My mum used to sew all my clothes but I don't remember these at all.
She also hoards material. My little cousin was the sun in her nativity last week and my mum reshaped an old yellow bridesmaids dress of mine - she had it in her material cupboard for 32 years!
