Clerks 2

I saw Clerks 2 last night. It was the first time I've seen a great movie in what feels like AGES. I've seen so many average films lately, like Phone Booth, Die Hard 3, but finally I saw something I really liked.

It was generally excellent, Rosario Dawson was great in it, it was the perfect length, didn't drag, still felt like Clerks rather than a cash-in sequel, storyline was good (I liked how it all took place on his last day, which is when everyones emotions were due to come out).

That said, some bits were a bit ham-fisted (especially Randall's bit near the end after he tells J+SB to close their ears).

Overall, 8/10.

Jay and Silent Bob was a shit movie, btw. Horrible stuff. The rest of Kevin Smiths stuff is pretty good though, especially Clerks, Mallrats and Chasing Amy.

Which is the one in which Affleck turns a lesbian? I thought that was well dodgy, though the black comic dude was well funny.

That was Chasing Amy, which is the most critically acclaimed of Kevin Smiths films.

He himself admits Mallrats was a bit of a mis-step, and it was, but the moments of greatness in that film (Jason Lee) overshadow the rest of it.

i loved the first four movies and hated everything he's done since. i haven't got any great intention to see this i have to admit.
