The Ealing comedies are obvious, and School For Scoundrels spring to mind. What other classics are there?

The Green Man is worth a look, Alistar Sim as a clockmaker who doubles up as an international assassin. Also got Terry Thomas and George Cole in it. We got it on dvd with School for Scoundrels.

Hitchcock did some comedies very early in his career, never seen any of them.

Does his Trouble With Harry count? Great black comedy, finished before he became a US citizen. Probably not.

However, we couldn't plausibly pretend it was made before the Sixties.
