Appetite for Destruction

Guns_N'_Roses_-_Appetite_for_Destruction.jpg

A damned good album, that, whether one listens to it with one's tongue firmly in one's cheek or just for what it is. Shame they got so bloated afterwards, though :(

cannae find thread easily.

so sunn cocker gig: crap at the time, good looking back. maybe cos the ending was ace (the lights go up and they're all lying on the floor, presumed dead). Possible that ruined by warmup band being incomprehensible [vaudeville musical?]. first singer thought was crap and can't remember. second had good moments.

to sum: disappointed. good looking back: so different looking back that i'm rethinking my understanding of the sunn catalog. i think the same is the case with the oracle (-the new) album: good looking back at the listen. but better on record, apart from the end (where they are all lying on the floor presumed dead. except one of them moved to rearrange their thread :D ).

Guns N Roses? Not metal.

Deep Purple? Not metal.

Hanoi? Not metal.

Marillion? Not metal.

Judas Priest is the beast and everything else is a pale imitation.

Death to false metal. And stuff. :D

I've been listening to a lot of metallica recently. Especially the Garage days album. Sweet Caress has seen me going off to Oink to find Misfits albums too.

i am listening to sunn's oracle again and again, and it's getting better every time: looking back.

what does this mean: is this real, or pseudo beauty?

Been listening to...

Neither of which are classic metal records but they're the nearest I'll get.

Does it matter if your favourite band of at least the last 6 months are being ironic. but you take them very very seriously

yeah so, far...so...good was one of their greatest - megadeth's own 'puppets.'

i do have a soft spot for peace sells, what with 'good mourning/black friday' and 'wake up dead.'

She's got a smile that it seems to me
Reminds me of childhood memories
Where everything
Was as fresh as the bright blue sky
Now and then when I see her face
She takes me away to that special place
And if I stared too long
I'd probably break down and cry

Made better music than their "big hair" image suggested.
