Clash Of The Titans Trailer looks baddass!

If you go, don't see it in 3D - it's annoying and crap. Apparently it was filmed in standard 2D and "3D-ified" afterwards. Mostly there's almost no 3D apart from stupid shit like having the back of people's hair appear a bit further away, so it looks like they're standing in front of a hair cutout. I have no idea what was going through their heads there. There's maybe one bit where the 3D even slightly improves it (in the Medusa scene) and it's irritating for the rest of the time.

Edit: I went to the press screening last night, a friend had some tickets.

You're really just a cranky old man, aren't you? :p

The 3D wasn't up to Avatar standards, and there were parts where the countryside in panorama shots seemed to undulate like a rat under a rug, but it makes the movie more fun. What would the scorpion scene be without 3D?

Just put on the Roy Orbison glasses and enjoy. :)

I saw this yesterday and enjoyed it overall. I agree that some of the action scenes just chop about too much so your brain just can't cope. Wasn't great but better than I expected.

Great big steamy heap of shit. Must try harder. Not storyline to speak of, crappo effects, constipated looking actors, the lot.

this film was utter bollocks!!... i went to cinema with my girlfriend and brother and got out-voted (i wanted to see Kick Ass). I fucking hate them for putting me through this dire boring piss wank

Better?

Better direction would have helped it more though, it wasn't very well done. The camera kept in far too close to the scorpions and the men and there was no sense of the fight happening in an actual place, just a load of wavy claws and scorpion bits and men making faces. In fact, if you'd not seen two scorpions arriving, you'd have thought that the two groups of people were fighting the same one. Apart from a couple of good sting impaling deaths it was quite a boring scene.

All the fast editing and camera is rubbish regardless of 3D. I hate the idea that seems to appear in lots of action films with CGI that if you have lots of really fast-moving shit going all over the screen unpredictably while you're zooming through a scene, that's like really good. No it isn't! It's just confusing and boring. Yeah, we know, you can throw a shitload of polygons around, you have lots of computers.

The chase scene where he's going through the streets of Argos on Pegasus being chased by bat demon things, and then later on through the kraken's tentacles, is just dull - the only good bits are when one of the bat demon things hits something and falls to the ground because it stops moving then.

Also Liam Neeson is complete crap in it. He has absolutely zero gravitas, he's just playing his Star Wars role again, he even has almost the same facial hair. He certainly doesn't carry off a character who is supposed to be the sort of mass-murdering rapist that you end up respecting somehow. Ralph Fiennes isn't too bad as Hades, but it's mostly a Saruman-ish "I am a proper actor but I need the money so here's a villain" performance. Doesn't chew the scenery that well.

The Madusa scene is way better than the Harryhausen though. The Harryhausen Medusa was embarrassing even back then.

Just been to see it and much the same thoughts here. I can't say I didn't enjoy it but it was just alright. Absolutely too fast in some of the scenes though as you said FM which, with the 3D, made it looked confused and you couldn't tell what was going on.

It was fun spotting various actors - William Houston and the very lovely Alexander Siddig for instance - and the fact that both Mr. QofG's and I independently thought that Draco (Mads Mikkelson, who i really liked) was Rio Ferdinand in a cameo for the first 19 minutes :D

Thought Gemma Arterton (Io) was good with a very nice screen presence and Sam Worthington made a passable hero. Still prefer the original version though tbh.
