Claiming JSA without enough Class1 NI contributions

Well for starters we wouldn't be able to criticise the jobcentre staff because they're nice people who have to follow tough rules.

I'm doing my best to keep with this high-level analysis but is it the case that your point is that if there were no more staff in the jobcentres, the world would be a better place then?

I'm suggesting that your continued insistence on undermining the status of the people administering the benefits system by insinuating that they aim to treat people like shit doesn't help anyone. Can you follow that logic?

I am sorry but the sheer numbers of people I know who have been treated like shit when claiming benefit outweighs your problems with my comments.

Hmmmm - have to say that when I was working the number of helpful dwp employees outnumbered the shit ones.

Probably pretty much my experience too but when you get a shitty one and you need help that's the one you remember iykwim.
And there's always at least one in every office

I've only encountered nice ones (one of them is not just nice, but lovely and helpful beyond the call of duty. I should say so in their suggestions box). Perhaps I'm nicking everyone else's quota!

That's the point though really. You do remember your bad experiences more than your good ones. That's why you need to make an effort to overcome your assumptions in subsequent engagements, otherwise you just end up assuming that you need to be nasty, when being nice could be a lot easier all round. Acknowledging the pressures that other people face is also worthwhile imo.

That certainly doesn't mean that institutional failings shouldn't be highlighted, lobbyed on and publicised and that some people are authoritarian wankers who enjoy their petty positions of power. But taking a blanket approach that encourages a view of aggression, antagonism and alienation is a bit, well, simple imv.

I agree. the people at bottom of the ladder tends to be alright. it's the so called "advisers" who force you on useles training schemes/ employment zones and the like that are usually the real bastards. believe me, I 've been through that. I agree with paulie that it's not a good idea to shout at them but my god, sometimes, you really feel like it. do you know what it is to be "invited" to one of their restart interview without them telling you about it? it happened to me. they claimed that because it had been sent by post, their stance about cutting my benefit at the time was valid. all they had to do is to hand over a sheet of paper about it when I signed on 2 weeks earlier and if necessary, make me sign a receipt that I actually received it!

1) Have you been put on Income based JSA instead of contribution based JSA ? because your NI contributions are now insufficient?

2)Are you fit for work?

3)There is a complaints proceedure you can request if you ask for it, get the name of said advisor

4)CAB ?
