There crap, nothing special about them, with out myspace they would have no real fan base and no album deal, Its amasing about hype aint it.
Personaly i loved Urban Hype back in the 90's :D

if any one has seen the mountain bike movie, earthed 3, its kind of hard to not hate them. the section which features "still take you home" is dam fine and the music really captures them mood.

as fas as nme music goes, they aint too shabby, when im on the mood for something in between full on mellow and full on punk/hardcore/ska then i'll listen to them, hot hot heat or the strokes (1st album mostly).

troulbe is, can they repeat with a good 2nd album? and singles, i heard a single which wasnt on the album, and it was shite.

Oh well cap-guns and polystyrene planes
Well I'm buyin' penny bubblies with my change

Yup, love them.

They use words from my childhood, and don't speak in a Yank accent. What more do you need?

You're in your early 30s aren't you? Why would they be using words from your childhood?

Could you even get those things in the mid-90s when they were kids?

all very suspicious...:D

Liked the pre release version of their album that was knocking about the net, didn't like the release version as much sounded way too finished, saw them live on the NME tour and they were shit, they have no personality or stage presence........I predict they will be gone and forgotten shortly like much of the 'fashionable' music that is about right now.....:)

Some of their music's alright. But they're right twats.
And not in a good rock n roll way - just a pathetic needy child way.

they don't impact on my life in any meaningful way so they don't really bother me, but if they're the best new guitar band of 2006 we're fucked, aren't we?

Pretty much. We must be the laughing stock of the world if this really is the best we have to offer music wise...

Fucking right. NL pwns Sheffield, in fact pretty much every city in the UK and South London too.:p

I'm not a fan of waste high litter, vastly overpriced polluted housing, the Northern Line, people stepping over your dead body, massively expensive drinks, shite public transport and drunken aussies myself. Give me Sheff everytime. Like crap pubs in the local area, North London is great as it keeps the wankers from spoiling elsewhere. I spent a year in Camden, never again! ;)

Heh you mean you couldn't hack it. You non Londoners are too soft is your trouble.:p :D

There's a really good Sugababes cover of one of their songs, which kind of shows you that they really ain't all that. It just seems like Fleet Street zeitgeist-chasing wank fodder really. Could be any number of countless other groups.

We will all be gone and forgotten eventually

I think my favorite thing about them is the headlines about Gordon Brown liking to "wake up to the Arctic Monkeys" while seemingly unable to name one track by them.

*which was actually just ade up bullshit by the papers. Although he did say he liked Coldplay :hmm:
