Chris Liberators birthday party!! Acid techno agogo Good friday.

Who the fuck is "Chis Liberator"?

I'm sick to death of people going on and on and on about it.

What's the big deal?

maybe one day you'll be lucky enough to find out...

I'll echo what many on this thread have said about chris, we've had him up to play for us twice recently, and he is without doubt one of the soundest people in techno, and a true underground party hero who's never lost his hardcore, or his punk diy free party attitude.

He also has always done the business where the dancefloor is concerned for us, not sure how long it is since dtb last saw him, but it'd be pretty hard to classify his sets now as monotonous looped acid techno IMO

promises to be a wicked night, they are going to play all the old acidtek classics! - shame I can't make it :(

"This is a special one off “good time” party to celebrate London’s most loved and respected Techno DJ Chris liberator and will feature one room devoted to the glories of Acid Techno from back in the day to the present time and one room featuring the best in new Techno. Playing downstairs we have Acid Techno legendary Djs Aaron Liberator, Zebedee, Gizelle plus Chris himself who will be joined by free party favourites Gordie, DJ Gas, Rackitt and a live set from maestro the Geezer. Expect to here classics from Stay Up Forever, Routemaster and Smitten records alongside classic Acid, Trance /Techno from Europe that has had a major influence on the sound today. Upstairs we have some of the best players in the London Techno underground party scene. From the excellent Chemical warfare parties we have Mark Axel and Fab- Sid, from Techno Sense we have Ludgero, from Malfaiteurs Dj Staw plus Product 19 and Arthur. Adding to this we have two out of town special guests Martyn Hare who runs the Emetic and Tremors labels and records for Recycled Loops and Tresor and Van Bass from Austria"

It's right next to Loughborough Junction station....

I used to *heart* the Liberator stuff, Dave the Drummer, SUF stuff....bloody excellent.

It's just too fast for me now though! :D

i thought that this particular brand of 'acid techno' managed to saturate what could of been a promising techno scene with some of the worst shit ever to enter my ears.

goa trance for punks.

A case of each to their own.

Photo of Chris from '87 at Meanwhile Gardens with old man Raymond (We Love You!).
Found it on the Blyth Power site after looking for photos of them to see if I remembered the guy who's one half of the Kills now (Jaime).

yeah,it was a tossup between this and bangface, but bangface doesn't have acid techno pouring out the brickwork and into the water supply. So it lost.

So,what would be a good pub to meet up in,for those that are up for this?

yep same pno - banned indeed! she told me she'd had enough of raving and getting wrecked and then goes and has it at chris libs..... hypocrite comes to mind!

I'd be well up for Jeome Hill, just finding somewhere to stay in Cardiff now mate, I could always try and crash @ my sister's halls in Cathays, dont really want to go back too munted, she's straight as fuck, and although she understands, it would be odd!

Could always do the after party :)

aaaah shame man. I will 'ave it large for you :)
Are you off home after this or are you coming to Munt then Malfaiteurs & KSS? I really am not sure I can do three nights on the trot and while Dance Industry is very nice it doesn't compare to the rest of the weekend.

Never the less - I am getting so pressure from people who I have never seen out with Acid techno so I might have to pop down for a bit..../.././/./../. may be;;; if she is very convincing.
