The outcomes of matches and storylines in WWE are all planned of course, but you still have to be one hell of an athlete to succeed in it. Benoit knew more wrestling moves than you or I have had hot dinners - and could execute them brilliantly.

unfortunate choice of word, given the circumstances

this guy murders his wife and helpless(against this hulk of a bloke), oh look! he's a HERO!

I wondered how long this would take. Is it wrong i find them funny?

anabolic steroids are banned for a reason, they enhance performance, he didn't get to the top of his "sport" by credit...he cheated....yet, everyone's saying how great he was at what he did...i HATE cheats....and he's a murderer, to boot

and no...they AREN'T funny...but then, with your psyche, it doesn't surprise me in the slightest that YOU find them amusing

I can almost see the sneering contempt on your face when you say 'you'.

(fwiw I think they're funny in a really immature 'this is so fucked up and we shouldn't laugh at them' kind of way - I winced then giggled then winced at the fact I giggled)

Anabolic steroids aren't banned. Can you find one non cruiserweight WWE wrestler on the roster who isnt on the juice?? It's not cheating, nearly everyone in wrestling rightly or wrongly is jacked to the gills.

A fatality rate at the top level which if transferred to a real sport would provoke scandal and action is just shrugged off then, cos everyone does it.

The way you talk makes me want to gougue my eyes out with a rusty spoon.

What I'll mainly remember about Benoit is that he broke Sabu's neck in ECW (nice job, butterfingers) and back when I watched 'Raw is War' someone once held up a sign which read 'Chris Benoit has funny legs' with a drawing of them - and it's true, he did have 'funny legs'. They looked like this: >>

I was never a massive Benoit fan. Good technical skills but no mic skills or charisma. Now all I'll think of when I hear his name is how he went crazy and smothered his family.

haha...might NOT be in ~WWE~, because they don't improve your acting skills, so probably aren't seen as an unfair advantage....

are in *proper* sports though...brains have to be addled to watch it anyway, so you probably wouldn't notice the difference

So you are posting on this thread for 'brain addled' (what you got against poor nosos, Balbi, ade, andy2002, J77, El Sueno or kained&able et al anyway to call them brain addled??) people why? Are you going to become my stalker?

No one would be foolish enough to suggest he's a hero and I resent your childish implication that that's what I was doing.

Was he a great wrestler? Yes. Am I appalled at what he did to his wife and kid? Yes. The two aren't mutually exclusive.

Apparently they are, you don't understand that because you are 'brain addled' according to citygirl.

do you know how much strength a person needs to complete a three in a row suplex on a 250lbs man?

alot of wwe wrestlers are in fact real wrestlers.
and unless you're a top 10 contender in ufc or pride, the money for competitive olympic style wrestling is rubbish.
wwe is a super alternative.

Not a chance, WWE have moved all mentioning of him from their website, stopped selling all his merchandise and DVD/VHS distributors have stopped selling anything related to him aswell. He will be completly wiped from history and considering the amount of negative press the WWE are already getting from this, they could never induct him into the HOF as there would be a major uproar. It would bring all the bad press and memories back up again.

Not nearly as much as you might think, the move is mainly executed by the "victim" as they use their leg strength to jump backwards with the offender merely serving as a guide to bringing them back down to the mat. ALot of offensive moves in this type of wrestling actually demand a greater effort from those on the recieving end of them.

He wont be there next year thats for sure but give it 5 years and it will happen. Bottom line is one of the top 10 wrestlers to ever compete in wwf/wwe so he will be there.

he speaks truth. The only one that requires and real strengh are the vertical/stalled suplexes.(like what british bulldog used to do and like wild cat chris harris does) Rest of them the opponent jumps into the move so doesnt require too much efoort by the bloke doing the move.

Had he killed himself and himself alone I would be inclined to agree with you. However, since he killed his wife and his 7 year old I cant imagine the company will EVER honour him, regardless of his contribution to the business. How could they induct a child killer into their HOF? Imagine the ceremony, which would need to include an induction speech, a tribute video package and admiring fans changting his name. It would never happen. He killed a 7 year old! The amount of mainstream media attention (all of it negative) this has received in America already makes it the biggest wrestling story ever. Never in a million years would they want to drag all this back up by inducting him into the HOF. They induct what they deem to be true hereos and classy representatives of the business. Inductees are often also chosen strategically, for business reasons not genuine ones, its no coincidence that Bret Hart was inducted this year around the time they released his 'Best of' DVD. I've read that most of his old work mates are considering not even turning up to his funeral.
