Choosing a turkey for xmas.

Well i went back to the farm earlier and ordered a 14lb turkey, but noticed that all the turkeys that were walking around yesterday have gone  they wouldnt be preparing them already will they?

There weren't loads of black land rovers there were there? :D

Probably just moved them to a different field or taken them inside if the weather was bad. Turkeys are incredibly stupid and won't seek shelter voluntarily if the weather's bad  :D

They may have been housed inside due to the birdflue outbreak. Farmers inside the control zone HAVE to, farmers outside of it may well do so as a precaution.

Another 24000 today. I'm willing to bet quids that the price of turkey will go through the roof this year

It might effect the price of fresh turkey a bit, but not frozen turkey as there is several yearsworth in commercial deep freeze storage.

I paid £2.89 lb...is that expensive? it seemed quite cheap to me.
