Pah. I suspect those liking some of the more fuckawful combinations like Diet Coke and similar - drinks so full of that weird sweetener shit that it fucks up your tastebuds for some time.

Some people honestly believe that 'Original' coke is somewhat sweeter than Diet, when in fact the reverse is true - substitutes are way sweeter, but the chemicals affect the way you taste somehow

;)

I won't disagree with that. A tagine, for example, needs a hint of fruit.

But the effect isn't generally of particular sweetness - oranges and redcurrants add tang rather than sweet notes in the main.

Fuck it, that's more understandable. Some white bread's sugary to begin with.

What's wrong with jam on a butty anyway?

<steps away from weirdo>
:D

:(

Jam's ok. But would you have a scrambled egg and jam sandwich - which a colleague has, apparently in all seriousness, just suggested...?

Artifical sweeteners taste absolutley rank to me and make my mouth go dry. Other people tell me they can't taste them which baffles me. Although, I have heard, that it's a genetic thing and most people can't taste them but a minority can. There's some gene that if you have it, you can taste the sweeteners. Could be bollocks of course.

It amazes me. Ew sweet n savory. Not allowed unless its been specified by long tradition.

Cranberry and turkey allowed
Beef and jam sandwich not. Why not? Its still meat and jam.

Logonberry and meatballs the way the swedish like it. Mmmmm good.

I also have cheese on chocolate digestives
Cheese on Ginger nuts, best served with orange juice
Jam and cheese toasties
Honey and Cheese toasties
Burger and ice cream

I just don't care me!
