Chocolate beetroot cake...

To get here you've first got to answer the question: what the fuck is the matter with a chocolate cake?

It's like messing with the universe.
She's already said she want a moist cake and not to have to bake two and paste them together (and like cooking new cakes ;)) :p

...has anyone made one? :hmm:

Is it very different from a standard chocolate cake? :hmm:

Does the betroot just add moistness or is there a marked difference in the flavour? :hmm:

It's for my daughter's birthday cake, so not a time to experiment if it's at all possible that they'll complain about the flavour! :hmm:

Hmmm...... :hmm:

TBF Beetroot & Chocolate doesn't sound like a good combination to me

Bloody hell what a can of worms! LOL!

Londons Calling, stalker - I'm gonna FUCK YOU UP!!!

I sort of have to do it now don't I?

Unless moomoo's gonna test it for me first?!?

And I have my blossoming, erotic beetroot-based relationship with Herbsman to think of too.

Tbf though, my bezzer texted me earlier...

Woman at work made choc and beetroot one friend & it was agreed by all members of staff that it was unpleasant! Good luck, I sure yours be yummy xx

Oh MAN!

We have consequently agreed that I make sure I have the ingredients to make a second cake too, if neccessary. As previously suggested on this very thread. :(

whats wrong with tried and trusted chocolate cake?

nothing is the answer

beetroot and chocolate saounds disgusting lets be honest

it's like tryng to re invent the wheel, and coming up with something thats not round

Good luck all the same. Glad your not making MY birthday cake tho! :D

So Minnie - no taste of beetroot at all? :hmm:

Hey - has your brother decided on a course yet, btw?!

I don't think you'd know it was there unless someone told you. My sister was adamant I would like it, I was adamant there was no way I was going to eat it. I did eat it and didn't end up gagging. In fact I had another piece :D

Not sure what brother's doing now.

Got his redundancy (turns out he got around £7k but he owed £3k to bank). Not got internet at home so haven't really chatted to him much

It's a change!
It adds moistness!
It's good for you!
It makes you frisky!

<leers at Herbsman>

:hmm:  :hmm:

so you only add a small amount of beetroot to make it moistness?

with no taste of beetroot?

so it's just chocolate cake with a secret ingredient then innit?

or S.I. in my house!

chocolate cake with S.I. sounds much better!

when the kids ask what S.I. is you just say it's a secret!

the clever ones will work it out one day!

Oh Biddly! Way to fuck with my head! I was going for a chocolate and almond one in second place (tried and tested - moist once, not so moist the next time  )!!! :D

Can you taste the guinness?
Sorry :D

I can't taste the guinness (and I don't like it as a drink), the boy says he can taste it a little, and tanky said she could too. But I just taste chocolate loveliness :o

It's good for you??

with all that chocolate??
:D

Ok. It's better for you.

It WILL be a secret ingredient, although not to the girl (she's helping to make it, so I'm not sure I can hide it, but anyway she LIKES beetroot and is hopefully still too young to imagine that some combinations of food might be considered 'wrong'.

It WILL be a secret to the boy though....except that he nearly read this over my shoulder! :D
