Deliberately provocative - but I personally don't have a problem with this. Indeed, it finds tentative, partial support. Good for a rare treat.

What's your take on mushy peas, Hi-ASL, as you seem to appreciate the finer points of chips?

I'm not a fan to be honest - I'm something of a purist - but they deserve and get my respect.

Look for support elsewhere - you'll get none from me.

The Mealie Pudding (Or Meallie Jimmie or Jimmer)

Coarse-ground oatmeal, fat, onion, salt & pepper, all contained in a bit of sheep's intestine.

Tastes an awful lot better than it looks. This is it in its raw form, usually a chipper will batter it thickly & fry it.

Often boiling is nice as well, esp if it is being served along with a main course - It removes a lot of the fat. :)
