Nope, just Chinese. What else do I dislike?

I was the one getting whinged at for having the cheek to have a good year, remember? ;)

How can you dislike the whole of Chinese cuisine? It's a big old place - millions of them little fellas can't all be wrong. Try a Szechaun (sp) hotpot for a truly hot and very different experience for example

Besides, don't you think the Indian dishes served in takeaways over here aren't just as anglicised as the average Chinese? I'd guesstimate that over 90% of curry houses here cook nearly every dish using a variation of just one or two curry sauce bases. That's a world away from the real article as well. Seems a strange distinction to make.

You are officially impossible when it comes to food and Mac based threads :D

a) I don't dislike all Chinese, I was being dramatic for effect. I've eaten in many a top Chinese restaurant and loved the food. I was mainly referring to your average take-away which, on the whole, serves what I'd class as bland gloop.

b) I only mentioned angilisisation to seperate my comment from proper Chinese food, which totally negates your first point.

c) Again, calling it Anglicised was merely to distinguish the food I dislike from the proper Chinese food you mention in your first point, therefore is a completely understandable distinction.

d) I know curry is anglicised, I never said it wasn't, and (again) it wasn't used in a derogatory way.

I'm tired now, I need to sleep.

Anglicised Chinese is fucking horrible. I'll never understand the people that choose it over curry. Gloopy, bland crap.

For Tarannau's benefits:

Whilst I find anglicised Chinese from your average High St take-away horrible, I have very much enjoyed the more authentic dishes served in some top London Chinese restaurants.

Chinese.

I love curry, but Mrs V hates chinese. So I have Chinese every opportunity cos I love Chinese too and don't get many chances.

Fish in black bean and chilli sauce, please.
