Probably safer watching the chimps in this day and age. Nobody has yet been arrested for downloading images of chimps onto their computer.

but some of the kids were mine !!

Actually I remember going to one built up play area with attendents etc for a birthday party .. our kids piled in there except one who was apparently too short and had to play with the little toys .. anyhow .. we made to follow our kids into the play area only .. to be stopped by a spotty attendent ..

You can't go in there .. !

Why not .. ?

the only adults allowed in there are us because we have been CRB checked ..

but .. but .. those are OUR KIDS you little hitler and this is supposed to be a party for all of us ...

some adults got quite angry and #

We will never ever be going there again .. not ever ..

I was in a pub's play area once with my then girlfriend's niece and nephew, who were staying with us. They were about 6 and 10 years old at the time, I think. They were playing with a bunch of other kids. I picked the 6-year-old up and spun her round. She kept saying 'again, again', then all the other kids lined up for a go, and I picked them up as well. I was very unsure whether I should, but they were very insistent so I did.

It occured to me afterwards that I could have got into trouble for that.

This reminds me of a study where groups of Brits and Italians were shown the same photo of a man kneeling down and holding a boy in a football kit. The overwhelming majority of Italians said that he seemed like a good family man. A significant number of Brits thought he was dodgy. :(

Yes I am sure we are more paranoid than we should be ..

I like being around my kids with my camera but I am very careful when they are around other peoples kids .. even though I am completely unthreatening ..

it makes a big difference if the camera person is male or female ..

This is the sort of thing I really never think about. Then again I don't have kids and aren't around them much.

I think a lot of people must have a latent fear of being accused of being a paedophile.

Not really surprising given that they are the staple tabloid folk demon and once 'people' make their mind up they can't be dissuaded by little things like a total lack of any evidence.
