Because of human society, woman don't get as much attention as men.
Fame does not implicitly mean that someone is better than someone else than them being luckier than another good photographer.
I did a search for "surreal" on flickr and a lot of them happened to be woman.

That is just a few of many out there.
Take a look at football, when was the last time you saw womans football at the back of a national newpaper? Its not IMO because woman football teams are no good, more societies entrenched habits .
