New Pullets!

My 'hybrid layers' arrived today and also turned out to be Goldline. I'm a bit miffed cos I paid £4 each for them, so Firky got a quid per pullet better deal than me.

I have said and often say that it is the CHICKENS who are in charge.

Just think about it....there are millions and millions and millions of chickens!!! Everywhere!!!!!! And they can't even fly!!!!!!!!!! If chickens could think or talk they would rule the world.

Its an earth 'raceway' (trout farm, innit?) - there's another runs parallel to it, when we had all the water in July last, the water was almost up to where the cockerel is in the 2nd photo, if it happens again, I'll just move the poultry, such is the joy of an electric fence.

Well after a week I have got them eating of my hand. They were quite timid and shy when I first got them but now they won't shut up when they see me.

They also adore grapes and red currants!

Mine are surprisingly shy compared to the others.

I have never got a hen to eat of my hand, but when I appear with a bucket, they do peg it towards me making a 'bwaaaaaaaaaaaaaark' noise.
