Ry Cooder called it that. Music that gets to the back of your neck
Neither of those do that to me.
Do you mean like when the hairs stand up on your neck and you feel all cold?
Yes, the shiver, the frisson. Not even throughout the song: there's a moment in 'Convoy' that does it but the rest is shit.
Yeah, it's another way of saying goose bumps.
Goosebumps!!! Thanks Lord Camomile - (the older I get the harder it is to remember the name of things and even speak properly...)
The sax solo makes me cringe
I guess this is my ultimate fave in that category ^^
I do rate this as well - along the same lines...
Lots of music here that doesn't do it for me (and some that does).
Great idea for a thread, mind.
I know what you mean, It's a personal thing isn't it, we have different associations with music.
This was the first song I heard Nina Simone sing. It starts off pleasant enough, but then her voice comes in, and it gets me so suddenly and completely it's like someone sticking a branch in the spokes of your bike wheel.
Each their own and all that, but if you ask me that's an abomination.
Mostly schlock. But there are the bits with the strings.
Separate names with a comma.
