Chicken, pancetta, and pink peppercorn jelly :hmm:

So, in summary:

Puddings in a tin = win

Chicken, pancetta and pink peppercorn jelly barf = fail.

Take note, mrs q ;)

Notes To Self:

White coffee jelly works substantially better than black coffee.

Both work really rather well.

Particularly with a dusting of sugar, in a puddle of single cream. Served on digestives.

Eating more than two cubes was - tbh - a bit of a mistake.

*twitches*

e2a: also. Need to work on getting cubes out of mold... Atm it's a bit of an imprecise and unbeautiful process*...

*though maybe drizzling boiling water over the back of the cube tray would work...? :hmm:

They look much more win ... if you make the coffee with evap, when the jelly sets the evap separates giving you two pretty layers btw. Not sure if that'd work in those weeny ice cube moulds - I think you'd probably need a bigger one.

Polish the inside of the moulds before you start and rub the back when you try and release them helps.

Maybe I need to buy a proper jelly mould...

*thinks*

:hmm:

:D

I was waiting for that :D:D The only places that I've recently seen jelly moulds in have been proper kitchen cookware shops :hmm:

Oh!

Yeah!

Fantastic!

We've got a thingy - that posh department store with a John in its name - one minute's walk away, and two kitchenware shops up at the Grafton centre!

Fkn mission!

I wish I hadn't read this thread. It was even more tasteless than Dravinian's latest attempt to get banned. No don't go there, really.

Mrs Quod, some instinct tells me that you have some difficult task that you are avoiding doing by getting up to these antics with food. It is a displacement activity isn't it? Get on with writing or researching that thing that you know has a nearby deadline.

And stop giggling while I am writing to you. ;)

I am 'between degrees' atm :)

And unemployed :)

Therefore, after a year of seven-days-a-week, 80->100->plus-hours-per-week, one-day-off-for-xmas, two-days-off-in-Jan, everything is displacement activity :)

It's all rather enjoyable, tyvm :)

My unemployed after-degree spare time is currently being occupied by my own genitals and drinking so I think experimenting with food is comendable like

1 bowl each of black and white coffee (made with evaporated milk) jelly have just gone in t'fridge; along with a bowl of custard jelly ice cubes.

:)

Eek, if only I'd known what you were planning. Apparently you have to rinse the moulds (without drying them afterwards) before pouring the jelly in, for easier releasage.

Well... A vet was present. She's just completed her PhD, focussing on paraplegic dogs with spinal injuries. She diagnosed t'jelly as bleeding in the upper gastrointestinal tract.

HOWEVER.

Inna bowl, wi some custard cubes and a dash of evaporated milk - it's a winner :D

e2a: the lower photos were the second bowlful. Hence the attractive splatter-effects.

erm. Not presentation at its best, like : D
