To be precise - one League title in 1955, a League Cup in 1965 , an FA Cup in 1970 and the Cup WInners' Cup in 1971

To put this in a little perspective, it was only the other year that they superceded West Brom in the ranks of successful English clubs

Chelsea only exist because Gus Mears failed to persuade Fulham to relocate to his stadium and faced with owning a white elephant, he chose to form his own club which he managed to get voted into the League without any obligation to pay their dues in the Southern League or similar. They have been a rich man's plaything for as long as they have existed, effectively a property venture with a football club attached since their (somewhat late) formation in 1905

fact - chelsea were one of the best supported teams in the country from the turn of the century until the mid 7ts and in 9 seasons from 1907 to 1954 times they were THE best supported team in the whole country .. and that was while yes they were also a pretty average football team though usually First Division ..

your history may be right but the idea they were just a rich mans plaything is ridiculous .. they have always been the biggest w/c team in the west off london before their years in the wilderness they were a big irish club ( proximity to hammersmith etc)

I was passing outside a pub in Kilburn which was showing the game, and there was a small crowd gathered outside looking in. I had a few minutes until my train so stopped to watch the extra time. When the yellows scored, the street erupted, wild cheering and clapping. Hang on, Chelsea are in blue right? It took me a while to assure myself that Barca had scored and not Chelsea
