Just listening to the radio, they were talking to some bookies.

They got hit quite badly by the result (4-4 was 500-1)

I thought my £1 @ 90-1 bet placed on either team winning on penalties was a loopy bet but would liven things up. Must say that I looked at the 4-4 and thought that was a fucking stupid idea for a CL second leg match!!!

:D
I reckon theres at least 4 extra 'draw on the night' pollsters^^^..
as it goes the Urban pollsters were just about right in their predictions

cracking game, we missed Gerrard, although Terry was in the stands too
barca chelski should be a good game too I hope

He proved what an awesomely strong, stand-up front man he is. Best forward in English football, that could displace any striker, in any team, in the world.

But you knew that ;)
Would'nt deny his talent, got the whole shebang, but hes still a very easy player to dislike,I mean he dos'nt exactly make it hard dos he?

I thought it might be a bit of an anti climax, but turned out to be even more entertaining than the first match. btw. Chelsea fan here:)

I was born in 1976 and started supporting them as early as I can remember -- let's say 1980. So from 1980 to 1997, my team won nothing. I went through my entire schooling with my team being shit. And this was in an area where absolutely everybody supported Tottenham or Arsenal. I had to endure the taunts of the Spurs fans, with their Hoddles and Waddles and the Arsenal fans with their doubles. Meanwhile I was watching us play Barnsley in the old second division.

Don't tell me about putting in the time pre-Abramovic!

Don't tell me you don't get annoyed with the Chelsea supporters where you live though, with their season tickets to the big screen down the pub.

There are no pubs with TV screens within about 10 miles of where I live. And there are a hell of a lot of country pubs in that radius.

Because I have no interest in angsty naval gazing?

How can you look at a computer screen and your naval? I suppose if you had a laptop on your lap you could manage it.

I think the idea of the thread is to celebrate/comiserate with felllow fans whilst having the piss taken out of you by rival fans when appropriate. Most Chelsea fans only sing when they are winning and they've lost a lot more this season.

Great game for Barcelona. Chelsea leaking goals for fun, their left back is so stupid he gets banned for the next game (do Chelsea have another left back with Bridge gone?). Messi vs backup left back, awww yeah.

Messi cuts inside/infield most of the time so a right footed player with pace in the LB postion shouldn't do too badly IMO. Be a great game I reckon. :D

I was under the impression you lived in Dorking - am I not right?
No, I live near Dorking. About 10 miles from it, as it happens, which is no coincidence as regards my telly info above! There are one or two pubs in Dorking itself with a screen, but I never ever go to pubs in Dorking.

My Chels mate misses the pre-Abramovich days.

I used to do a lot of that when we were crap. Now that we buy three players in any position with a perceived weakness as soon as a transfer window opens, there doesn't seem much point. What's the point in playing fantasy football as a fan when your manager can do it for real?

Football supporting was 1000× more fun back when we were a bit shit.

When everyone was a bit shit. When the stadiums were shit, the food was shit (alright, the food is still shit), when the coverage on tv was laughable but such an event you stuck with it anyway...ultimately, it's us, the fans the ruined it. Well you specifically, kabbes, you and the rest of the headhunters. Hooliganism prompted mass reforms which priced the fun out of the game. I also blame Nick Hornby and Rupert Murdoch of course, but mainly you. You and your "ilk".

Couldn't agree more.

An unexpectedly good match I thought. Not quite sure why Lampard got MOTM though, I thought Essien and Anelka were far more effective.

I just hope Everton win tomorrow, because the 2007 Cup Final, Chelsea-Manchester United, still lingers in the memory as one of the worst games I've ever seen.
