Cheesiest tune you can't help liking?

shapeshifters 'lola's theme' is something i can't help loving.

from my gay-bar haunting days (where it all makes much more sense),
mousse t - horny
2 times (can't remember who it's by)
toca's miracle
that alice dj song

there's more, but i try to blot it out with breakcore...

Simon and Garfunkle aren't cheesy! Paul Simon is a goddamn genuis. :D

I am a big fan of lots of cheesy music. Girls Aloud, anyone? I love Graffitti my Soul by them. And the Show.

Diamonds are forever # Shirley Bassey
Hello ~ Lionel Richie
Most beautiful girl in the World ~ Charlie Rich

Which was adapted from 'I Need A Miracle' by Coco, wasn't it? :)
aye - if i remember correctly, the vocal was taken off one of those albums that has loads of accapellas for djs to stick over their favourite trance bangers - someone bunged it over fragma's 'toca me', pressed a few thousand copies... it got massive, leading fragma to take the rather wise decision of licencing it. i expect they're still living off it now.

the video was rubbish though.

Coco (aka Susan Bryce) didn't make a penny out of it though (despite appearing on TOTP when it was #1).

I remember her - girl with long hair? That's rough luck, although I must say it's quite rare for the real vocalist to lip-synch the vocals on 'TOTP' et al (see Technotronic/Ya Kid K and Black Box/Loleatta Holloway debacles of 1989).

Keep the cheesyness coming people -

Billy Ray Martin - Put your loving arms around me
then Aurora - Rapture
& Sophia Ellis Baxture - Murder on the dancefloor
I'm having a right cheesy afternoon :D

Happy hardcore is the only cheese I will admit to liking, topping the list, I think it's got to be
Bang!: Shooting Star (lord know why, but I guess that's the thing with cheese :o) closely followed by
Any happy hardcore remix of "Put you loving Arms Around Me" by Billie Ray Martin
nevermind eh, worse things happen at sea....

and that housey one "At Night" or summit... :D
That would be 'At Night' by Shakedown - not cheese at all! That's a top drawer Defected modern soul funk classic, tight as fuck and dripping quality I'll have you know! :)

This thread scares me - happy hardcore indeed... brings back horrific memories of Vibealite in Yorkshire circa '93... all white gloves, pre-Crasher kids but still as tragic - Vicks and shit, good job I was one of the few on decent pills... ;)

The cheese I'll admit to:

Pretty Green Eyes.

Love the video, with it's subtle vampiric lesbian overtones, but the tune works too.

And I quite like the DJ Sammy eighties house stuff, Boys Of Summer and that, the vocalist is deliciously blonde and nubile and she can actually pull the more coarse singing style too, surprisingly.

And Goldfrapp are genius, never cheese.

That's not cheese!!! Well...... not compared to my list of shame:

Can't remember the track names right now but the sugarbabes, all saints, kylie and definitely madonna have all made tracks that bring out my cheesy side

Overload by the Sugababes is a fantastic track. I won't even start about the genius that is Madonna, cos I'll never shut up.

NOT CHEESE!!! NOT CHEESE!!! BIN!!! BAN!!!

;)

That's quality pop that is - one of the greatest pop moments in the last ten years. And it was written by the band (well, mostly Siobhan Donaghy) when they were all about 15.

How CoO :cool::cool: OoL...?

"ooh la la" - and yes, it's actually pretty good - and I don't even like Goldfrapp that much.
It's definitely the most faithful to the original cover of 'Spirit In The Sky' that I've yet heard... :p

Just reminds me of long hot summers when I was a kid

yeah likewise. That and Substitute by Clout and I don't Like Mondays by the Boomtown Rats really reminds me of family holidays picking fruit for the jam factory. Ahhhh happy days especially remember my first crush on a girl called Sara who was a Doncaster Rovers supporter. ;) :)
