cheese on toast

I used to love toasting a white baguette (without the white doughy middle) n then some cheddar n very thin ham...

pity I don't eat meat anymore!

I'm sorry, but this thread was beginning to sound like a Marks n Sparks advert!

"This isn't cheese on toast, it's..."
You have no taste!

Indulge my food snobbery please!

Bleurgh. Sorry but white bread is rubbish, it sits in your stomach and has less taste/texture.

:p

I love thickly sliced seeded wholemeal bread mmmhh....cos I'm a middle class, poofty Southern wanker

It's made for toasting it's even called Toastie!!!!!

I put butter underneath the cheese then melt it under a slow grill. I'm a traditional girl so nothing but else on it but worcestershire sauce.
Hmmm feeling a bit peckish

I forgot to mention mustard. A little bit of mustard smeared on top of the melted cheese and depending on taste some black pepper. worcestershire sauce just sounds wrong.

Thick wholemeal bread, toasted on one side only, bit of butter on the other side then some crumbled tasty lancashire cheese and a sprinkle of worcester sauce - toast until bubbling and eat when it's much too hot
