Cheapest Pint in London

. . . the Kingston Mill . . . the beer is flat, sometimes tastes like pisss.. it also quite reminds me of an 'alternative' type person youth club . . .

Nice to hear it hasn't changed in 23 years!

They had a fire & now it's been re-furbished into a 'trendy' bar.

It's a fucking disgrace.

ye gods.
ye.
fucking.
gods.
say. no. more. :(
cheapest pint I ever had in london was 66p; Thames Poly SU 1984. other than that - much as I can't stand 'wem, wetherspoon's first, second, third.

If you've got to go to a foul and noxious chain like Scream  that has no drinkable beer in it, to get a pint (of chemical shite) for less than £2=, then I'd either pay more, or go to the somewhat better chain of Wetherspoons.

And yes yes I know all about Wetherspoons faults, but see main Wetherspoons thread on General for its virtues ... there are a lot worse chains.

The Plough at the top end of Lordship Lane in East Dulwich has various beers (inc Stella) for £2 a pint on Mondays.

Horrible boozer mind.

I recall having a pint of lager from this independent brewery in a pub called the Charandos, just off Trafalgar Square, for £1.90, which to me is cheap by any standards, but a bargin in a city I sometimes call "the land of the £3 pint"! :D

yeh that's a Sam Smiths pub, they're all over Soho too.

I'd of thought most of the scream pub chemicals are the same cheap chemical drinks you'd find anywhere else...

True true, but cheap or dear, chemical shite is chemical shite , and there are chains and 'bars' and the viler sort of pub which ONLY sell rubbish ...

Wethespoons (cheap) and better pubs (dearer but better) offer a better choice.

Chandos

Its just by Charing X police station, i dislike that pub.

It's not that bad when it's quieter! Just have to pick your times that's all.

And as Tom A said, you can get a nice pint there at a good price.

Aye, its not too bad as a pub, but i got leered at when i went in there by some wanky city types in suits. That does put me off of a pub..

For those of that persuasion (and those not but fancy cheap, late drinks) the new G-A-Y Late bar off Charing Cross Road is doing all drinks £1.60 til the end of April, every night. Doesn't open til 11pm tho!

Students drink in Scream pubs because they are cheap, full of students and licensed for long enough. Not because they are wonderful places to drink... Unions are usually cheaper.

when I was at uni, my local was cheaper than the union bar.

The Castle on Crystal Palace Road does Fosters for £1.40 a pint daytime during the week and is a nicer boozer, although still not great.

Sam Smith's brewery pubs are still pretty cheap IIRC. Is a pint of 'man in the box' (they took away the man and replaced him with a sign :() lager still under £2? Dead cheap anyway. 2 pints and a packet of crisps for well under a fiver. And that's without promos or cards or any of that.

They do that man in the box stuff at the Cardinal in Victoria for under £2. All they drinks are strange, they have odd 50s packaging cola and German Guinness, I really it it though.

Must go there again :)
