Cheapest Pint in London

those yellow scream pubs do £1 a pint night... but they arent not my chose of pub!

I'm barred from the local one as they wouldn't serve me without ID.

Not that I look young, just that they think they're communist Russia and not just a ten-a-penny watering hole.

wait a minute! nobody has asked about this...

If you got a place in mind could you list name of pub, type of drink, alcohol percentage if possible and price.

alcohol percentage?

I don't really get it... why are you asking?

I was wondering that too. Maybe he/she is planning to get drunk, otherwise why would he/she choose cheapness over quality?

But all pubs sell a wide range of drinks from piss weak ales all the way up to spirits...

If they all sold one type of drink each then your question would be applicable.

yeah but he's asking about the cheapest PINT not the cheapest PUB so his questions is applicable I think.

Well you can get a double JD mixer in the Goose for £2. Or is it £2.50. :hmm:

Percentage 37% or is it 40% (without the mixer, natch.)

i think it's it. they used to have a big banner outside proclaining that they did. haven't been past in about a year though.

:D You think the big banner saying £1 a pint might have meant they were selling pints for a pound?

Nice work Sherlock:p

also i'd argue that it's better beer

You'd have trouble. Most decent-sized Weatherspoons have a very wide selection of beers and ales, that Sam Smith's own-brand brews, while good, cannot compete with. Shame they're such soleless places - I'd rather drink at home, and go to a propper pub when I can afford to.

Cheapest pints I know of:

Sam Smith's bitter: £1.87
Weatherspoons (outer London branches) guest ales: £1.69
Corib Bar on Camberwell Road, Murpheys/XXXX/Toby bitter: £1.70

These might be out of date, however...

Since you did not include this information, I assumed that standard-rate prices were the subject of the discussion.

Why anyone would want to drink there regularly is another question.

Whoever spoke of the £1 pint at the Salmon and Ball was correct - they will sell you a pint of Webster's Green Label (a third-rate bitter) for that price between 10am and 12 noon.

Although I'm sure happy-hours don't really count, my best find - in Canary Wharf of all places - is Cafe Brera. £1.70 for a pint of Stella, and in a great spot too, overlooking the river and not rammed with suits.

And then you get the catamaran home. Which has a bar. A good way to finish work sometimes :)
