Cheap pink toned foundations

I've been looking for a pale foundation that suits my skin and isn't too expensive but they all seem to be yellow toned. This means that even the lightest amount makes me look like I've trowled it on. The only pink toned stuff I could find was £21 and as I rarely wear make-up my foundation usually goes off before I'm a 1/3 of the way through so I don't want to pay a lot for it.

i found the palest at bodyshop good for pinkness. also my loreal truematch minerals is a pleasing shade (vanilla rose), but you'll need to trust me that it works well as a foundation, because it's a loose powder.

I feel your pain, though. Just about every normal foundation makes me look simultaneously orange and grubby.

I think finding cheap foundation that doesn't look "cheap" is going to be hard going.

Having said that, I used to use some rimmel stuff, but it was so long ago I don't know if they still make the same one...!

It usually rubbed off quite fast though.

Can I just ask a question about foundations and tinted moisturiser?

If it comes off on a tissue, does that mean you have put too much on, or is that to be expected if you rub your face with a tissue?

it's to be expected if you rub your face with a tissue tbh, unless you have make up that is for tv which is bombproof.

are you very pale skinned iguana? I only ask because only 1% of people need to use a pink toned foundation and on most people it looks like a mask.

to pick a right match you should select three shades closest to your skin tone and put a stripe on your clean face between your nose and the side of your cheek and gently blend it, go out and check in the daylight, then double check the shade doing the same on your forehead because sometimes the skin is actually darker there and thats the shade that will be the best. the correct shade will dissapear on the skin.

also DO NOT set foundation with powder that is called transluscent, its a bollocks shade that suits absolutely no one and proper transluscent powder has no pigment. it'll just make your skin look shit and ashy.

Pale doesn't quite cover it. Apart from my many, many freckles.

I tried the body shop stuff yesterday and their number 1 is pretty similar to my skin tone. I decided not to take any risks so smeared it on my face and went out to stand in the sun with a mirror before buying it. I drew quite a few stange looks from passers-by, but at £11 a bottle I wanted to be sure it suited me. I wish they'd sell it in smaller bottles for infrequent make-up wearers, but maybe as this stuff suits me I'll wear it more.

Thanks spanglechick and t_p, I will now not look streaky and grubby and my sister-in-law's wedding tomorrow.
