Chartered accountants regulating body

I see the distinction and point Hollis is trying to make. I guess folks who are members of an institute should use the full title, because it is misleading to misrepresent yourself. So a Certified Chartered Accountant could easily be mistaken for a member of a different institute with different standards and rules, if the Certified bit were left off. innit :)

well yes, but in general what institute you belong to is immediately obvious in any official capacity by what letters come after your name, ACA, ACCA, CIMA etc... all of which can be referred to as chartered despite what others here may try to deny

and to anyone outside, the key thing is that all these institutions are equal under the law and are empowered to do exactly the same things, so there's not that much to mislead in that respect, it's just down to different brands in the end, doing the same thing

Oh, all right then ....

Hollis - sign in and download EAS - Use of the description 'Chartered Accountants' :

G'wan.

(I don't know what it says ... but want to)

that's different issue really, that's relating to whether you are eligible to practice, people can be chartered accountants and not eligible to practice, that still doesn't preclude them from calling themself chartered

I've had to send off for a password reminder. God this is tense. :(

what! i thought chartered accountants logged in to these kinda of things every day to keep up to date and fuel the myth that they are supererior to other equally accredited bodies!
