Charlotte Church - up the Duff

Why am i a prick for not wanting:

My car windows smashed - twice
Wing mirror smashed - once (they did everyone one in the street)
Covertable hood slashed - not mine the next door neighbour (who was a student and couldn't afford the repair)
Being threatened and bullied for two weeks but the police said they couldn't do anything - not me but the old couple 4 doors up
Random Graffiti on the front of my house, side of my house, the lane up the back and on the road itself - wouldn't mind so much if it was good but they were certainly no Banksy, my cat could do better.
My bins thrown in the river - Along with everyone elses
Chavs pissing on my frontdoor on the way home from the pub because its handy dark area. - Caught 8 of these, god knows how many i haven't caught. One I stopped before he got started wanted a fight with me cause I shouted at him for it. Yet I'm sure he'd love it if I urinated all over his property, I'd be his best mate.
When they were doing work on the bridge they threw the generator in the river.

If wanting people to have repsect for other people's property is snobbish then yes I'm a snob.

Please all do explain why I'm wrong to hate the group of people that have commited these crimes.

You live in Ponty. Sounds more like the work of students.

The students also threw bin bins in the river and did some graffiti on the road surface (of better quality i must say) and stick the odd traffic cone on their heads (haven't we all).

When I moved here I was worried about the students but to be honest they are fine its the locals from Rhydfellin who are problem which is why I want to move further into the town.

Unless of course you are charlotte church.

You do know that she comes from a pretty cruddy suburb of Cardiff don't you? They weren't by any means well off until Charlotte stared making a mint.

So a chav is:

Someone who commits crime.

Lived or has lived in a cruddy suburb.

Can be rich or poor.

Generally comes from or is part of the 'underclass'.

You seem to be casting quite a wide net there and I dont belief your 'analysis' really holds much water to be fair.

If I say Tony Blair comes from Edinburgh you are making out that I'm saying everyone from Edinburgh is Tony Blair.

Generally they come from cruddy areas but that doesn't mean everyone from a cruddy area is a chav.

Its not that they come from an underclass its that Chav is an underclass in its own right.

As i said I define chav the same way Wiki does. You obviously did't pay any attention to that so I'll cut and paste the definition here:

Chav or Charv/Charver is a mainly derogatory slang term in the United Kingdom for a subcultural stereotype fixated on fashions such as gold jewellery and 'designer' clothing. They are generally considered to have no respect for society, as well as being considered ignorant or unintelligent.

Now that doesn't mean that every chav is going to commit a crime but as they have no respect for society you can pretty much assume that the crime rate is going to be higher where there is a higher concentration of chavs.

Elements/symptoms of the stereotypical chav are someone who:
Wears particular clothing, such as:
Brand-name athletic clothing and shoes. Stereotypically, this might include but is not limited to white trainers and tracksuits. [3]
Trainers such as Nike Shox, Nike Air Max and Reebok Classics are becoming common among chavs.
Designer clothing and accessories (usually counterfeit), in particular the distinctive tartan of Burberry. [14]
Fake gold jewelery—in particular conspicuous earrings and trinkets on chains for women, and gold sovereign rings and large gold (or fake gold) chains for men.
Sports caps or Burberry caps and hoodies (for males). Often both are worn at once. [3]
Sports or jogging trousers, especially white. [3] These may be worn tucked into sport socks, but more commonly they are worn with one trouser leg pulled slightly above the ankle. These trousers are also referred to as "tracky Bs," "trackies" or "tracky bottoms".
If female, often wears thickly applied make-up, large hoop or dangle earrings, makes heavy use of fake tan, and has a hairstyle in which the hair is pulled back into a tight ponytail (called a "Croydon facelift"[15] or "council-house facelift").
Owns a "tacky" or "cheap" modified car, usually with a basic original specification, but decorated in a gaudy style. The Vauxhall Nova is one of the many small hatchbacks associated with this group.[16]
Aspires to the latest mobile phone and other mobile gadgetry. [17] The stereotype may not be above buying fenced phones or obtaining the phones themselves via mugging or theft.
Lives on council estates and other low-income neighbourhoods, often supported by the "dole"[16] (unemployment benefit / Income Support).
Often takes part in underage drinking, sex, (and, consequently, is associated with teenage pregnancy), smoking and sometimes drug abuse.[16]
Congregates and loiters in areas such as bus stops, shopping centre, under bridges,[18] corner-shops and fast food restaurants.[19]
Is associated with crass, loud, in-your-face drunken behaviour and minor criminal activities. This includes unprovoked attacks on members of the public (see happy slapping), vandalism, verbal abuse, and drug abuse (see ASBO). Often these crimes are committed purely for the fun of it and not material gain. [20]
Classically (particularly in the schoolyard culture) have a vehement dislike of 'goths' and 'emos', as well as other "alternative" subcultures. [21]

Ok so how does Charlotte measure up:

fixated on fashions - Yep
ignorant or unintelligent - Yep times two - Just watch he so called fucking show for proof - its a sad fucking reflection on society that it wasn't immedietly taken off air.
no respect for society - I heard all sorts of story where she has done what the fuck she likes and fuck other people. Hell there is one on here where she she was too fucking important to queue like everyone else.
Is associated with crass, loud, in-your-face drunken behaviour and minor criminal activities. - Internationally Famed for it.
Lives on council estates and other low-income neighbourhoods - Previously

You just don't get it do you - it's the way the term is used (as your wiki post says) in a derrogatory way that people don't like about your use of it.
It's like saying Gypo or something.

Which is fine by me. Its meant to be derrogatory as i don't like em remember. And i don't like her, remember.

If I called them and her 'wonderful human beings' it kinda losses the flavour that i wish they would drop dead the same way that the other urbanites want Jaykay to drop dead.

Why did you only highlight that part only? I don't hate her cause she comes from a council estate, been there and done that myself. I only raised it cause you were the one under the delusion she wasn't from an underprivileged background so she didn't fit that part of the chav criteria.

No the reason I hate her is cause she is a stupid drunken ignorant cow. Thats not elitist. Especially when she she has the elite fame, money and position not me. Duh!

It might not be elitist, mate. But you're not doing yourself any favours here.

Apparently its not valid to hold an opinion on them unless we personally know the celebrity.

The fact they are in the public eye and we are deludged with stories doesn't matter.

The fact I'm from Cardiff and lot of people know her so you get to hear all sort of random stories.

I've even rubbed shoulders with her myself a couple of times and neither occasion led me to believe that anything i had heard was made up.

Marius please start the other tread about chavs as this one is now just silly (that was my Monty Python voice).
Good luck Charlotte & Gav, I've never seen her mother but after this thread I'll look out for the lovely Maria.:)
